Online seminar in collaboration with Eiji Press A seminar on "Seiko Group CEO Shinji Hattori's Leadership Lessons from Hubert Joly's Heart of Business"
On February 28, an online seminar was held in collaboration with Eiji Press.
This seminar focused on the book The Heart of Business: Leadership Principles for the Next Era of Capitalism by Hubert Joly and featured a talk session with Shinji Hattori, Chairman, CEO, and CCO of Seiko Group, who cited this book as his favorite in the Nikkei Shimbun.
Yuya Uemura, the editor in charge of Eiji Press, which published the Japanese edition, greeted the audience and Gramco President Yoichiro Yano, who wrote the commentary, introduced the author, Hubert Joly, former chairman and CEO of Best Buy, and provided an overview of the book.
In the talk session that followed, a pre-recorded video was streamed, in which Gramco Representative Atsuro Yamada took on the role of interviewer, asking Hattori about his perspective on this book. Hattori also spoke about the current status and strategies of the Seiko Group's purpose branding, including examples of specific initiatives as well as his own experiences. He also took this opportunity to discuss the past and future of the Seiko Group.
During the Q&A session, questions were asked about purpose management. The questionnaires distributed after the seminar indicated that attendees learned a lot about the importance of implementing purpose management on a long-term and continuous basis and found the Seiko Group's efforts to instill purpose to be extremely helpful. We were able to sense the high level of interest in purpose branding among participants.
Gramco will continue to plan intermittent face-to-face seminars and webinars. Please stay tuned for more seminar and webinar information.
